Who is running

Chairman of Aleh Yarok, known as "The Angel" for the number of people alive because of him. For years he volunteered with medical cannabis patients the system had abandoned — teaching people how to turn the cannabis the state had legally given them into the oil that let them come off their opioid prescriptions — and he paid legal prices for doing it. He describes the merger as what turns this struggle "from protest into policy."

Born in Jamaica, Queens, New York — PS 178 — and religious later in life, by choice rather than inheritance. He made aliyah in 2013 and lives in Jerusalem, married with four children. An ordained rabbi, educator and entrepreneur, he has spent close to two decades in psychedelic medicine and the legal frameworks that allow access to it, and works to advance clinical research in Israel into treatments for post-traumatic stress. He is a co-founder of Trippy.vc, an American psychedelic-medicine impact fund run on-chain, whose investments include the Israeli company PsyRx, developing a treatment for treatment-resistant depression that pairs an SSRI with a low dose of ibogaine. He has founded ventures in Jewish education, in addiction and rehabilitation, and in sustainable agriculture. In his own words: "Israel is dealing with an enormous number of soldiers, reservists, terror victims and civilians carrying deep trauma… Judaism, in my view, is not afraid of knowledge, of science, or of healing."
